Whether your current financial situation is good or bad, bad spending habits can lead to financial problems at any time in the future.

1.  There is no alternative to budgeting

To make a budget, first of all, you need to be sure how much money you earn every month.  That is, apart from the primary source of income, if you get money in any other way, it should be included in the budget.  After that, how much is usually spent to meet the needs, should also be taken as a calculation.  From buying daily necessities to house rent, insurance money, education expenses of yourself or someone in your family or expenses like electricity, water or gas bills, you have to consider.

In this way, the most importance should be given to the cost of meeting the basic needs.  So, keep the maximum amount of money required to meet these needs in advance.  Then divide the remaining money in two parts.  Leave the first part for direct savings, and the second part for spending on leisure or entertainment.  Spend the time from there going for a walk somewhere or going to a movie.  However, if there is anything left over from the money set aside for entertainment, keep that money for savings as well.

You need to budget regularly to keep track of your expenses.  However, if there is a specific financial goal, it may be necessary to budget separately to meet it.  So make changes to the monthly budget as needed.

2. Pay off the loan as soon as possible

We all need to take loans for various needs. But due to lack of interest, we miss many opportunities to repay those loans quickly. For example, sometimes we suddenly have money in our hands due to bonuses at work or profits in business. Most people spend that extra money outside their budget usually on entertainment. It can be seen that the extra money is spent on buying a new model of television or mobile phone or going on a trip.

But we should give priority to repaying the loan. Because, interest usually gets added to the loan amount over time. This means that the longer you stay in debt, the more money it will cost you. So, even if you pay the regular loan installments, when you get extra money, pay off the loan with that money as well. By reducing the amount of debt in this way, you will save a lot of money in the future. And the saved money can be deposited in the savings account later.

3. Try to learn from reality

From childhood, we all have heard many types of advice about spending money. But due to not being able to understand, they have not thought about applying those suggestions in their own life. However, if we could learn from reality, it would have been possible to understand the importance of these suggestions long ago. For example:

  • Even if you have extra money, don’t spend more than you earn every month
  • Never buy anything unnecessary
  • Pay off the credit card balance in full every month to avoid interest charges
  • Plan how to invest the savings
  • Try to eat home cooked meals instead of eating out
  • Try to take advantage of discount offers when buying essentials
  • If there is a problem with any appliance or furniture in the house, try to fix it yourself, if it is not possible to fix it yourself, call a mechanic or a mechanic.

We all know these things. However, it becomes difficult to follow these suggestions in applying them in our own lives. So we have to decide for ourselves whether we need to follow any advice based on our own habits. Then implement those suggestions.
